The Turing Award winners database can be used in various way depending on the result you are looking to get. If someone is really interested in computer science and they are determining what school to go to, they can use this database to see what schools the winners of the Turing Award attended. Additionally, someone can look that the highest degree earned by the winners. If they are interested in potentially winning the award, it would be beneficial to know the level of education that they likely need. This database could also be used to see what the previous winners have researched, which can inspire new research topics for anyone interested in the field. By calculating the difference between birth year and year receiving the award, anyone who wants to receive the award can see how old people typically are when they win. Some people may just be interested in knowing more about the Turing Award and the type of people that receive them, so this database would allow them to see the country that the winners were born in, and where the winners taught at.

One table in our design for the Turing Award winners database will contain first name, last name, year born, year won, and age when awarded. The new column "Age When Awarded" will be the difference between year born and year won. First and last names will be strings and year won, year born and age when awarded will all be integers.
