I do hope sooner. But you are correct, viruses can change but some do remain the same. It also depends on the vaccine. If the vaccine is made against a component of the virus that is essential to the virus and does not change, then the effectiveness of the vaccine will be higher. Flu viruses do change decreasing the effectiveness of the flu vaccine
