This course presents a broad examination of kinesiology as an academic discipline and profession. Students will explore kinesiology’s related sub-disciplines, study the historical development of kinesiology across major time periods from the ancient world to today, and consider related scientific, philosophical, and educational issues. Learning activities will include reading from a variety of texts, in-class discussions, as well as group and individual projects.
