Writing about your experience with learning

Here is some more guidance.

For tomorrow (Tuesday, August 28), I would like you to write about an experience with learning. If possible select an experience that took place outside of a high school classroom.

For example, you might have enjoyed learning from a coach, an employer, a leader of a Scouting group, or a counselor at a summer camp. Maybe you have taught yourself a craft. Have you made some of your own clothes? Have you helped build a house? Maybe you are a musician or artist. Are you a fan of history or sports who is making yourself an expert on those subjects? Maybe you planned a special adventure and learned through your travels. Did you ever participate in a service or mission trip? Have you studied a martial art? Scuba diving? Trained for a marathon? Climbed a mountain? A night in the wilderness can teach some important lessons.

Choose an experience that gave you a sense of accomplishment. What did this experience teach you about how you learn best? What is the best environment for you? What qualities do the best mentors (or teammates) have? What kinds of habits and discipline make you most productive?

I asked you to write about 256 words, but you do not have to count the words this time. If three quarters of the page is empty, you have written too little. If you have spilled over onto a second page, you have written too much.

I hope that this helps!
