Since so many countries are being affected by COVID-19 and collecting data on it, how is all this data being complied? Like each countries probably has their own database, but how are the countries sharing all their info with each other and the WHO. Is there a single huge databased that each countries Health Department contributes to? What about poor countries that don't have the technology, how are they sharing their information about how the virus is effecting their population?
Each country has their own surveillance system but some countries are feeding data into Johns Hopkins University here: https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html and into the WHO if they are members. Countries without resources for surveillance are not getting or able to take accurate information. This is the case for all global health crises. These countries cannot share information with their populace.
