Why do some animals get the virus and others don't? What determines if an animal is capable of passing the virus?

different animals are more or less susceptible to viral infection.  What makes one animal susceptible and another not is a good question but we don't know.  it probably has to do to the viral receptor on host cells of different animals, some receptors might not permit the virus to bind.
