This morning I was reading two articles, one about the protests that have been going on  and another on COVID-19 parties. It seems that the people who were protesting have fallen ill and I can't help but feel upset. The protesters went out there without masks and did not follow social distancing and still do not believe in the severity of the virus. Then Teens and some adults are banding together in hopes of getting COVID-19. All of this drives me insane and frustrates me when I have had family who has been impacted by COVID-19 and seeing the death rates in our area. I want to keep hoping that the summer will be normal, so I can have some human contact. Yet, people are not helping diminish the spread.

Do you think if we find a drug that impacts COVID-19, there would be a high chance that it would become resistant like HIV did?

I agree with your frustration.

Resistance is always a possibility.  That is the reason why there needs to be multiple drugs.  HIV treatment involves taking multiple drugs that hit different targets, thereby lessening the probability that one target will develop resistance.
