Philip Greenspun has lived a very interesting life. He's started as a teacher at MIT in 1979, teaching traditional electrical engineering and computer science classes, while co-developing two new classes called Software Engineering along with a three-day RDBMS and SQL course. He's also an author of several computer science textbooks. On top of that, he was also a pilot for regional jets for a Delta Airlines subsidiary, while also teaching helicopter and airplane instrument flying, while ALSO being an author for multiple helicopter books for kids. in 1990, he founded "Scalable Systems for Online Communities", which was a research group MIT, which then spun into ArsDigita, now profitable more than $20 million in revenue. Proceeding this, he founded photo.net, a community for people to help each other improve their photographic skills with over 600,000 users, all while using ArsDigita. To top it all off, he has also donated $10,000 to Kids on Computers (KOC). It seems like he is a nice guy who's good a wide spread of things.
