I think it is interesting that in the article "Give Bats a Break" the author is arguing that we need to focus more on the positives of bats.  My question is: at what point do you need to acknowledge that a given animal might be best left alone?  Assuming the COVID-19 originated from a wet market do we need to start advocating for shutting those down? I am not an expert on China, but I would assume that wet markets are a big part of the local culture/economy.  So, I guess me question it, iIf we want to protect bats and humans what steps do we need to take moving forward?

we need to leave bats alone but it is hard not to encroach on an animal's habitat.  Wet markets are a big deal in some countries.  But are they really any different than the buying and selling of animals in the U.S.?  We just call them livestock auctions.

What steps do we need to take?  i wish I knew
