Many school districts are preparing to be closed in the fall due to COVID-19. I am really concerned that if schools do close in the fall we will see an even bigger spike in child abuse and domestic violence. As a future educator I am nervous to see what trauma this may cause students and how I will need to accommodate in order to teach and nurture my future students. To see how schools are adapting is very interesting and worrisome all at the same time.

Talking to the different healthcare and public health workers have made me look at what traumas could occur differently. I can only imagine the types of attachment traumas can occur from having your parent leave and never come back. Especially since these kiddos will know they went to the hospital. My fear is that could lead to generational trauma against medical care. All in all, I am worried and curious to see how this will impact younger kids.
